Description
the factors affecting the radiochemical yield of the copper catalyzed labelling of IAZA with 125 I such as Ph of the medium , catalyst and substrate concentrations and solvent effects were investigated. the reaction is assumed to take place via an organo-copper complex intermediate which favors the exchange between radioiodine and the inactive iodine in the compound. the reducing agents such as ascorbic acid, stannous chloride or sodium metabisulphite are added to the cuprous chloride catalyzed reaction to prevent the oxidation of Cu(I) to Cu (II) in order to decrease side products formation and to improve the radiochemical yield. different radio chromatographic techniques have already been used to determine the radiochemical yield as well as the radiochemical purity. kinetics and thermodynamic parameters indicated a second order reaction. activation energy was calculated with and without catalyst
