Magnetic boundary coupling between liquid 3He and antiferromagnets
- 1. Tohoku Univ., Sendai (Japan). Research Inst. for Iron, Steel and Other Metals
Description
A strong magnetic coupling (SMC) phenomenon observed near the magnetic phase transition temperature is reported for three substances (CuTA, TANOL and Mn Tutton). The SMC characteristics are quite different from those of the magnetic coupling in CMN in contact with liquid 3He or in metals containing dilute magnetic impurities. An anomaly in R sub( k) (Kapitza resistance) due to SMC is drastic, and occurs in a narrow temperature range. SMC observation is a sensitive probe to the phase transition in solids and to the magnetic interaction at the boundary. (Mori, K
