Potential scattering in the eikonal approximation
Description
The eikonal wave function and scattering amplitude for potential scattering are obtained by using elliptic confocal coordinates to evaluate the total Green's function in the short wave length limit. Our derivation provides a simple way of analyzing some of the basic assumptions involved in deriving the eikonal approximation.
