Determination of the optimum absorber thickness in Moessbauer effect experiments
Creators
- 1. Institute of Nuclear Research, Warsaw (Poland)
Description
The simple method of the estimation of the duration of Moessbauer effect experiment as function of the absorbed thickness is proposed. The atomic absorption coefficient, source efficiency and the background parameters are to be determined in the given experimental condition. Introducing those data to the formula derived in the paper one may estimate the optimum absorber thickness and the absolute time of observation needed for the required accuracy of the measurement.
