NB Power - GNB - NBESC small modular reactors
Description
Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) can be constructed in variable sizes for different markets. They are factory built in modular construction. Their inherently passive design means less complex systems and equipment that requires very little operator control. there is a potential for fleet application in Canada and world wide. New Brunswick Power has identified potential needs and opportunities for power generation from SMRs and performed a technology assessment for those technologies best suited for New Brunswick. The province of New Brunswick has committed $10 million to R&D cluster - Advanced Reactors. Our vision is to establish potential commercial demonstration units at New Brunswick Power.
