Interaction of YCl3 with KNCO in aqueous media

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Obshchej i Neorganicheskoj Khimii

Description

Cyanate derivative of yttrium investigated by the methods of diffractometry and IR spectroscopy is extracted for the first time from concentrated aqueous media by means of synthesis. It is established that partial condensation of cyanatogroups with formation of cyanuric acid anion takes place already in the process of synthesis and the prepared substance corresponds to the J3(C3N3O3)(NCO)6x6H2O formula. Thermolysis of the compound is investigated by the methods of thermography, volumometry, gravimetry, chemical and IR spectroscopic analyses. It is shown that hydrolysis of cyanatogroups with hydrate water with formation of CO32- anion takes place in the process of dehydration. Further on thermal decomposition of carbonate component of the residue is observed in the 420-530 deg temperature range while its cyameric component is decomposed only at 570-640 deg C, J2O3 being the residue
