Asymmetry of the internal bremsstrahlung of 37Ar

Description
The asymmetry of inner bremsstrahlung photons accompanying the electron capture decay of 37Ar nuclei, polarized in Fe at low temperature has been measured. The 37ArFe, prepared with the Isolde isotope separator, was measured with the NICOLE dilution refrigerator in external magnetic fields between 0.6 T and 2.0 T. The magnetic moment μ=1.08(32) n.m. has been deduced. A table of hyperfine fields as a function of the substitutional fraction is presented. (orig.)
