Regularities of DNA synthesis repair in populations of irradiated mammalian cells

  • 1. Akademiya Meditsinskikh Nauk SSSR, Obninsk (Russian Federation). Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Meditsinskoj Radiologii

Description

Change in DNA synthesis rate in cell synchronous culture under radiation was shown to present result of summation of various processes (proper repair, cell transition from G1 stage into synthesis stage). Experiments with cycloheximide and actinomycin D revealed that processes resulting in DNA synthesis rate increase were inducible. Supposedly DNA synthesis in the cells following irradiation differed from DNA replication in their properties in intact cells. At this stage the problem on DNA synthesis regularities remains open. 16 refs.; 4 figs
