TL sensitivity of CaSO4:Dy to alpha and gamma radiations -dependence on Dy concentration

Description
The TL glow curve shape and sensitivity of CaSO4:Dy to 241Am alpha and 60Co gamma radiations have been investigated as a function of Dy concentration. The results show that the TL sensitivity (glow curve area of dosimetric peak) to alpha relative to gamma increases with Dy concentration up to 1 mol.%. Hence CaSO4:1 mol.% Dy is recommended for high LET radiation dosimetry. (author)
