Description
This paper describes the development and practical application of 10 MeV/20 kW high- energy, high-power electron irradiation accelerator developed by China Institute of Atomic Energy, which is used for food disinfection and sterilization of pets. The features of the accelerator are 10 MeV of electron energy, 21 kW of power, and 800 mm of scanning width. The scanning uniformity is 8.5% in electron beam scanning direction 500 mm below the window titanium. The beam spot size is 50 mm where 500 mm below the window titanium. Sweep frequency is 5 ∼ 10 Hz, transport chain length is 80 m,and speed is 1 ∼ 12 m/min adjustably. The accelerator has been stable and reliable operation for two years. It shows that the irradiation accelerator's design, production, manufacture is a success. (authors)
