Role of surgery and post-operative radiotherapy in patients suffering from one or two brain metastases and group I or II metastases according to the Recursive Partitioning Analysis

Description
The authors report the assessment of the role of brain surgery and total irradiation in a retrospective set of 282 patients belonging to group I or II of the Recursive Partitioning Analysis and suffering from one or two brain metastases. The patients have been treated either by irradiation of the whole brain only, or by surgery followed by irradiation. Global survival rates are discussed as well as the results of a multifactor analysis. Surgery appears to positively impact survival. Short communication
