Description
Objective: To study the application of ICP-MS technique to radionuclides analysis, and improvement of monitoring techniques in nuclear accidents. Methods: Microwave digestion was used in sample treatment. Standard reference materials were used for quality control. The internal standard method (103Rh) was used in the quantitative analysis. Results: The analytical results of several stable elements and two radionuclides were in good agreement with the certified values 95%-109% and their concentrations in food and water samples were similar to those in other reports. Conclusion: ICP-MS technique is effective in measurement of heavier radionuclides. Considering the sufficient sensitivity and the rapidity and simplicity of the measurement, further research are expected for the analyses of radionuclides in nuclear accidents
