(π,p) absorption in /sup 6,7/Li at 75 and 175 MeV

Description
Differential cross sections are reported for (π+,p) reactions to discrete final states over the range theta=20--95 (1160) and for the inclusive (π+-,p) reactions in 6Li at theta=200 to the continuum. The continuum cross sections indicate the predominance of the two-nucleon pion absorption mechanism where (π-,p) shows the importance of multiple (charge-exchange) scattering. The combined use of the exclusive and inclusive cross sections is discussed
