The SELEX experiment at Fermilab
Creators
Description
The SELEX experiment (Segmented Large-X Spectrometer) has been taking data in the 1996 endash 7 Fermilab fixed-target run. The experiment uses a 650 GeV/c negative beam which is 50% Σ-, 50% π-. The primary purpose is to study the production and properties of charmed and charm-strange baryons, but there is also a wide program of other physics topics. The present status of the experiment and preliminary analysis are presented. copyright 1998 American Institute of Physics
