On the variations in the 3C 120 galaxy spectrum

On the basis of spectrograms of 3C 120, obtained during 21 night in 1972-1979, the equivalent widths of emission lines Hα, Hβ and [0111]lambda4959 have been estimated. As a result of comparison between these data and the photoelectric observations by Lyutyj(1979), it has been shown that the brightness change of the galaxy nucleus was accompanied by the flux variations in Hβ line, the flux in [0111]lambda4959 line being practically stable. The equivalent widths of Hα and Hβ lines as well as their profiles did not prove any visible change. It is pointed out that dust is probably to play a certain role in the observed variations
