An ESR investigation of the vanadium pentoxide-water system illuminated in the solar spectrum range

Description
Photoreduction of vanadium (V) ions in aqueous solution is followed by ESR observation of the VO2+sub(aq) ions formed. In addition shortlived surface centers are detected at room temperature in illuminated V2O5-samples being suspended in water. These centers are tentatively related to the active species in the photoassisted electrolysis of water. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Nach der Photoreduktion von Vanadium (V)-Ionen in waessriger Loesung werden die dabei gebildeten VO2+sub(aq)-Ionen mit Hilfe der ESR beobachtet. Ausserdem wurden kurzlebige Oberflaechenzentren bei Raumtemperatur in bestrahlten, wassersuspendierten V2O5-Proben nachgewiesen. Diese Zentren stehen in engem Zusammenhang mit den aktiven Zentren der photounterstuetzten Elektrolyse des Wassers. (orig.)Additional details
