Preparation of ZrO2 and ZrO2+Y2O3 coatings on silicon carbide fibers

Description
Features of the formation of the ZrO2 and ZrO2+Y2O3 coatings derived from soles of hydrated metal oxides at silicon carbide fiber NicalonTM NLM 202 are investigated. Microstructure of oxide layer and morphology of surfaces of the coating is shown to determine by physicochemical properties of the synthesized soles. Oxidation kinetics of coatings-free fibers and with coatings at various concentration of Y2O3 was studied. It is demonstrated that the oxidation rate of the silicon carbide fiber is reduced with increase of the coating thick. Исследованы особенности формирования покрытий ZrO2 и ZrO2+Y2O3, полученных из золей гидратированных оксидов металлов, на карбидокремниевом волокне марки Никалон (NicalonTM NLM 202). Показано, что микроструктура оксидного слоя и морфология поверхности покрытия определяется физико-химическими свойствами синтезируемых золей. Изучена кинетика окисления волокна без покрытий и с покрытиями при различной концентрации Y2O3. Показано, что с увеличением толщины покрытия скорость окисления карбидокремниевого волокна снижается. Исследован фазовый состав неокисленных и окисленных образцов ткани Николон с покрытиями ZrO2 и ZrO2-Y2O3Additional details
