Development of an in-vivo neutron activation analysis facility for measuring changes of calcium and phosphorus in sections of bone
Description
A facility for partial-body in-vivo neutron activation analysis is at its final stage of development. It is to be used for the measurement of calcium and phosphorus in sections of the human skeleton such as bones of the spine. This facility utilizes a shadow-shield whole-body counter with two 28cmx10cm NaI detectors and an irradiation system of two 200μg 252Cf and four 0.37TBq 241Am-Be neutron sources. (author)
