Absorption and luminescence spectra of cadmium bromides monocrystals doped with some rare earth elements

Description
This paper deals with the investigation of absorption spectra of CdBr2-Eu and CdBr2-Sm. The introduction of Eu2+ and Sm2+ ions into the CdBr2 lattice causes an appearance of strong absorption bands (at 352 nm in CdBr2-Eu at 334, 440, 560, 594 and 678 nm in CdBr2-Sm) which correspond to f-d transitions in activator ions
