Description

It is widely believed that the successful Weinberg-Salam theory of weak interaction also described parity nonconservation (PNC) phenomena in the NN interaction. However, the actual effects depend crucially on corrections due to strong interactions and the study of parity nonconservation in few nucleon systems serves today as an important independent test of current ideas of strong interaction theory.
