A new DCN line: DCN(HCN) excitation
Creators
- 1. Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, New Jersey
Description
We report the observation of the J = 3-2 line of DCN in the Orion Nebula and show that a simple excitation model accounts for the ratios of the J = 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 antenna temperatures. Comparison of observation and theory determines the scattering rate for DCN and HCN at the Orion Nebula molecular peak.
