Description

A brief overview of measurement techniques used in nuclear laboratories for elemental microanalysis is presented. The techniques described are two x-ray analytical methods, XRFA and PIXE, and three prompt nuclear reaction analytical methods, elastic scattering analysis (RBS and ERDA), and particle-excitation gamma-ray emission analysis (PIGE). The application potential of these methods is illustrated through some medical analysis examples. (R.P.)
