Technique for particle focusing and deflection in circular accelerators by magnetic fields of ''straightened light''
Creators
Description
Analyzed is a new method of forming focusing and deflecting fields in the vacuum of circular accelerators. The method is based on the use of a static electric field of ''straightened'' light or a static magnetic field of SHF ''straightened'' oscillation. In the accelerator particles move in a vacuum chamber in a strong radial electric field or in a transverse magnetic field according to the given method. In the first case the field is generated by laser light in the nonlinear crystal layers forming in particular the surface elements of chamber walls. In the second case the field is formed by SHF oscillations in ferrites or in ferrodielectrics. It is shown, that in a ring made of light- or magnetic-nonlinear material, during laser light pumping of approximately 3x1012 W/cm2 or microwave pumping of approximately 1011 W/cm2 constant fields, forming the equilibrium orbit of particles with a characteristic radius of approximately 3m/(100 GeV/c), arise
