Polymerized lyotropic liquid crystals studied by positron annihilation techniques
- 1. Unidad de Proyectos Especiales, Sierra Mojada (Mexico)
- 2. Syracuse Univ., NY (USA)
Description
Phase behavior of liquid crystalline binary systems and their polymerization have been investigated by positron annihilation and polarized light microscopic methods. Effects of the hydrocarbon chain length and unsaturation of the surfactant on the nematic formation in these systems have been studied. Polymerization of liquid crystals formed in sodium 10-undecenoate-water systems has been carried out and followed by same techniques
