Description
Objective: To investigate the changes of plasma NPY levels in patients with acute cerebral infarction and its clinical significance. Methods: Plasma NPY levels were determined in 50 patients with acute cerebral infarction and 30 controls by RIA. Results: Plasma NPY contents in ACI patients (431.03 +- 142.0 ng/L) were significantly higher than those in the controls (1451.1 +- 44.1 ng/L; P < 0.001). Conclusion: NPY as a strong vasoconstrictive neuro peptide could be closely related to the mechanism of disease in ACI
