Investigations and technical reviews on the reliability of prediction for migration behavior of radionuclides

Description

Experimental investigations for the migration behavior in geological media and for solution chemistry of TRU nuclides were carried out, in order to enhance the reliability of prediction for migration behavior radionuclides. An expert committee was established for comprehensive and multilateral studies and discussion. The subjects investigated in the expert committee are as follows, (1) Diffusion behavior of plutonium in compacted bentonite under a reducing condition. (2) Effects of ionic strength on the sorption of Am(III) onto minerals in the presence of Humic acid. (3) Research on the temperature dependence of the complex formation of actinides. (4) Radiological formation and growth of technetium collides. (5) Particulates measurement using laser-induced breakdown spectrometry. (6) Nonequilibrium leaching of natural decay series nuclides. (7) Study on Solubility Product of Pu(VI) Hydrous Oxide. Also, acquisition methods and status of data preparation on migration behavior of radionuclides in foreign countries and Japan were investigated and previous acquisition methods for migration behavior of radionuclides were discussed.
