Description
Compton scattering is thought one of the factors which led to inferior quantification of SPECT. To improve SPECT quantification, energy-weighted acquisition (EWA) was studied using a SPECT phantom. Using EWA, the rate of scattered photons was more decreased easily, spatial resolution and image contrast improved. Also this method was superior to normal window acquisition (NWA) in linearity of relative radioactivity ratio. Cold lesion size in SPECT was measured more precisely than NWA. (author)
