Prognosis of sandstone hosted uranium deposit in southern Ordos basin
- 1. CNNC Key Laboratory of Uranium Resources Exploration and Evaluation Technology, Beijing Research Institute of Uranium Geology, Beijing (China)
Description
Ordos basin is an important U-producing basin in northern China. Geological work for sand stone hosted uranium deposits is relatively weak in the southern area of Ordos basin. In this paper, elements for uranium prognosis in southern Ordos have been summarized in aspects of uranium sources, geological structures, sedimentary formations and facies, interlayer oxidation, as well as geophysical, geochemistry and remote sensing characteristics. With the MRAS software on platform of GIS, characteristic analysis method is applied to select the perspectives and one level-I and one level-II perspective areas were predicted. and Diantou-Yaoqu section and Binxian-Xunyi section are finally determined as favorable for uranium prospecting.
