Dependence of severity of acute radiation syndrome from radiation dose at nonuniform irradiation of man

Description
Five main variants of geometry of radiation effect on man have been pointed out. For the purpose of studying the regularity of the development of acute radiation syndrome(ARS) at nonuniform irradiation which can take place at the nuclear explosion and different emergency situations with energy set-ups, the clinical data analysis on 23 persons suffered at various accidents occurred in some foreign scientific laboratories has been carried out. The irradiation was notable for nonuniform effect of gamma and gamma-neutron radiation with the primary affection of the upper or the lower part of the man body. Using regression and correlation methods of the analysis of ARC severity degree and corresponding radiation doses at the studied variants of nonuniform effect enables expressing this dependence by the corresponding mathematical equations. It is concluded that the obtained dose differences of equidimensional effects(ARS severity degrees) can serve as a basis for calculation of supposed sanitary losses and the prediction of the affection severity at the studied variants of geometry of man irradiation
