Description
γp elastic scattering in the photon energy range of ν (<=) or approximately 400 MeV is analysed based on the new fixed-t dispersion relations. The theoretical predictions are in agreement with experimental data throughout the whole energy range, excluding the energies near the Δ (1236) resonance at the angle THETA = 90 deg. It is shown that extracting the proton polarizability coefficients (anti α and anti β) from the available experimental data of the γp scattering, it is important to take into account the contribution from terms νsup(n) with n (>=) 4 to the expansion of the cross section in powers of ν. Account of these terms results in values of anti α and anti β, that essentially deviate from those found previously
