Multiplicity of γ-transitions in the sup160Gd(sup(16)O, xn)sup(176-x)Hf reaction. The limiting angular momentum
Description
On the basis of the results of investigation of γ-decay of the high-spin states formed in the sup(160)Gd(sup(16)O, xn)sup(176-x)Hf reaction at 16O ion energies ranging from 80 to 134 MeV, the parameters of the spin distribution of the population of nuclear states in a compound nucleus are determined at different ion energies. To pass from the experimental values of the γ-ray multiplicities to these distribution parameters use is made of the results of statistical model calculations for a concrete reaction. The limiting values of angular momenta are obtained describing the nuclear state population spin distributions for the channels in which the competition begins between neutron and γ-emission
