'Design practice and experiments for energy science 1' in 2008. In-air particle induced x-ray emission (PIXE)
- 1. Kyoto Univ., Dept. of Nuclear Engineering, Kyoto (Japan)
Description
The experimental training course entitled 'In-air Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE)' using a van de Graaff electrostatic accelerator was started at the second semester for the third year student of the nuclear engineering course as one of the themes of the subject of 'Design Practice and Experiments for Energy Science 2' in 2005. The van de Graaff electrostatic accelerator located at Quantum Science and Engineering Center in Uji campus was used to carry out the training. In 2008, this theme has moved to one of the themes of 'Design Practice and Experiments for Energy Science 1' opened at the first semester. 21 students participated in the experimental training course for two days. Students were divided into 4 groups and received a brief lesson and experimental practice on June 4, 5, 11, 25, 26 and July 2, 3 in 2008. (author)
