Conventional and CT findings in polysplenia syndrome

A case of polysplenia syndrome associated with abdominal situs inversus and anomalies of the inferior vena cava system is demonstrated by conventional and CT examinations. The conventional radiographic findings already suggest the diagnosis; final verification can be achieved via computed tomography. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Das Polyspleniesyndrom ist durch zahlreiche kongenitale Fehlbildungen charakterisiert. Am haeufigsten treten dabei abdomineller Situs inversus und Fehlbildungen im Bereich der Vena cava inferior auf. Anhand eines Falles mit Polyspleniesyndrome werden die konventionellen und computertomographischen Veraenderungen dieses Syndroms demonstriert. Schon das Thoraxuebersichtsroentgen erlaubt eine Verdachtsdiagnose, die definitive Abklaerung kann mittels der Computertomographie erfolgen. (orig.)Additional details
