Anisotropic equilibria of a high-β tokamak with non-circular cross-section
Description
The characteristics of the high-β tokamak equilibrium with non-circular cross-section and anisotropic pressure are studied analytically. The equilibrium βsub(p) limit defined by effective pressure (p sub(parallel) + p sub(perpendicular))/2 does not depend on pressure anisotropy, however toroidal mass flow leads to the reduction of the critical βsub(p) value of the non-circular tokamak.
