Semiempirical shell-model formula
Description
There are 5563 nuclear mass excesses of nuclei beyond the 1p shell, calculated from the semiempirical shell-model mass equation of Liran and Zeldes, presented. The equation contains 178 independent coefficients, which were determined by adjustment to 1818 experimental data. The root-mean-square deviation of the calculated masses from the Wapstra-Bos 1975 experimental values is 276 keV for all the 1270 nuclei beyond the 1p shell and 197 keV for the 1141 nuclei beyond the 1d2s shell. In this introduction a short description of the equation and of the method of calculation is given. Some features of the calculated values are summarized. The mass excesses will be found in the main table of this issue
