Application of the integrated risk-oriented accident analysis methodology for the Loviisa NPP
- 1. IVO International Ltd (Finland)
- 2. Center for Risk Studies and Safety University of California (United States)
Description
A balanced and consistent Severe Accident Management approach between prevention and mitigation have been achieved for the Loviisa NPP through application of the Integrated ROAAM methodology. The approach integrates the assessment to the measures to ensure that safety goals are met, and thus brings a new level to defense-in-depth. The safety goal is that containment failure at Loviisa is a 'physically unreasonable' event for any accident sequence that is not 'remote and speculative'
