Preparation and characterization of PVOH/montmorillonite nanocomposites

Description
In this work, PLSN with PVOH matrix and MMT clay reinforcement were produced and characterized for application as adhesives. This nanocomposite was obtained through the exfoliation-adsorption route, varying the percentage of clay mass in relation to the PVOH polymer. Aqueous PVOH solutions and PVOH/MMT dispersions were evaluated in terms of pH. The nanocomposite films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
