Description
The International Conference on 'Quantum Transport and Quantum Coherence' - Localisation 2002 has been held at Sophia University, Tokyo from August 16 to 19, 2002 as an official satellite of the 23rd International Conference on Low Temperature Physics. The purpose of the conference was to provide a forum for discussion of the latest progress on a broad range of topics related to transport phenomena and quantum coherence in bulk systems, mesoscopic systems and nano-structures. The main topics discussed in the conference include: Quantum transport in disordered systems (Anderson localisation, effects of interactions on localisation, superconductor-insulator transition, quantum percolation, etc.). Quantum Hall effect (fractional and integer) and related phenomena. Quantum coherence (quantum computation, macroscopic quantum tunnelling, dephasing at low temperatures, etc.). Quantum transport in nanostructures (quantum wires, quantum point contact, quantum dots, single-electron devices, nanotubes, Kondo effect, spindependent transport, non-Fermi liquids, superconductivity proximity effect, etc.). Separate abstracts were presented for 10 of the papers in this report. The remaining 64 were considered outside the subject scope of INIS. (J.P.N.)
