The digitized sialogramme and dacryocystogramme

The edge-enhanced digital sialogramme and dacryocystogramme provide impressive multi-dimensional pictures of the salivary or lacrimal apparatus, the quality of which surpasses by far that of comparative images obtained using conventional methods. Those digital displays can, however, not be expected to yield additional diagnostic information, even if they are processed further with the aid of a monitor. On the other hand, incorrect exposures can largely be excluded, which obviates the need for repeat examinations. Storage foil radiography can be recommended as a routine procedure for any visualisation of ducts in the ENT and eye regions. (orig.)
