Optical and impact excitation of hydrogen molecule in presence of a strong electromagnetic field

Description

The light absorption (optical excitation) and the electron scattering (impact excitation) by the H molecule in the presence of an intense electromagnetic field were theoretically investigated. The wave functions of the C- and D-molecular states were constructed by the MO LCAO method. The dependences of molecular H excitation probabilities on the lasing intensity and incident frequency are given. The effective cross section of molecular excitation by electron impact was created by the sum of partial cross sections, differing from each other in the number of hω/2π quanta, participating in the collisions, and thus also in their thresholds. In the spectrum of scattered particles, the electrons with energies, differing from each other by an integer of hω/2π quanta, were present
