Investigation into thermal conductivity of metal-filled polyvinyl chloride

Description
Presented are the results of studying the thermal conductivity coefficient of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) filled with different amounts of highly dispersed metal powders in a wide temperature range. As fillers use is made of tungsten, copper, and iron powders. In the compositions studied the conditions of heat transfer improve with decreasing molecular mobility and structure ordering under the action of fillers. Thermal conductivity increases most intensively when fillers are introduced in amout up to 1 vol.%. Thermal conductivity of PVC compositions increases with the volume content of a filler and depends on activity of the fillers which decreases in the series of Cu > W > Fe
