Dynamic measurements of flux creep and flow in YBa2Cu3O7-δ single crystals

Description
Decay of magnetization was measured in YBa2Cu3O7-δ single crystals under the conditions of field sweep. In varying the sweep rate over eight orders of magnitude, the system could be carried from flux creep to flux flow regime. A broad crossover is observed in agreement with a distribution in pinning potentials. This novel technique enabled the first experimental determination of the relaxation time in the flux creep regime (τ ∼ 10-3 s). 22 refs.; 4 figs
