Mechanism of fast neutrons inelastic scattering on Mo
- 1. Gosudarstvennyj Komitet po Ispol'zovaniyu Atomnoj Ehnergii SSSR, Obninsk. Fiziko-Ehnergeticheskij Inst.
Description
A theoretical analysis of differential cross sections of inelastic neutron scattering on natural molybdenum is performed for the incident energies from 5 up to 8 MeV It is shown that a combination of statistical and direct reaction mechanisms is sufficient for description of the experimental cross sections. The calculations have been carried out basing on the Hauser-Feshbach statistical model, the coupled-channel model, and within the distorted-wave Born approximation. Introduction of the notion of model nucleus in the calculations did not affect conclusions of the present paper on relation of statistical and direct mechanisms in inelastic neutron scattering
