Description

A theory is developed to explain laser induced X-ray emission in a hydrogen plasma system. Dispersion relations are derived for the electromagnetic modes propagating in the plasma system and saturation level of the modes are determined. An explanation is offered for the steep rise in X-ray emission with increase in plasma density. (A.K.)
