Description
The observed energy dependence of the parameters of various multiplicity distributions (e.g. the and k parameters of the negative binomial) makes it possible to predict them for even higher energies. Because of its physical importance, we have investigated the behaviour of some quantities that characterize the deviation of predicted multiplicity distributions from the Poisson distribution. One of these quantities is the statistical distance of Wootters that proved to be very useful in the study of the relationship between different distribution functions. Our main result is the observation that the extrapolated ratio of the investigated quantities to maximal rapidity behaves regularly from the 1-2 TeV energy scale already reached by experiments.
