Non-linear self-acceleration of electrons emitted by plasma cathode
- 1. National Science Center ''Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology'', Kharkiv (Ukraine)
Description
The occupancy process of diode with plasma cathode by a comparatively dense electron flow is under consideration. A nonlinear non-steady hydrodynamic theory of the process has been constructed. The nonlinear phenomenon of electron self-acceleration due to the interactions of their Coulomb fields was discovered and investigated. This phenomenon allows the electron front to occupy the cathode-anode gap at times that are short as compared to the single electron transit time in applied electric field.
