Description
The propagation and absorption of the ICRF (ion cyclotron range of frequencies) waves in the Wendelstein VII-AS stellarator is studies. Both the cases of the two-ion hybrid resonance heating and second harmonic cyclotron resonance heating are investigated by solving the global wave equation. Accessibility range and antenna loading impedance for various plasma parameters as well as the power deposition profile are obtained. The generation of fast ions is also discussed. (orig.)
