Mechanism of oxidation of weakly reduced blues of 12-molybdenovanadiophosphates by oxygen in solution

  • 1. AN SSSR, Novosibirsk. Inst. Kataliza

Description

Mechanism of the reaction of 12-molybdenovanadiumphosphate blues with oxygen is considered. The data on thermodynamics of oxidation of the 12-molybdenovanadiumphosphate blues by oxygen point to a low probability of one-electron transfer in the reaction of blue with O2 and are in good agreement with transfer of two-, three or four electrons. The data on kinetics of blues oxidation with H2O2 and O2 confirm the proposed earlier mechanism of oxidation of weakly reduced blues by oxygen including transfer of three electrons in the complex of O2 with blue
