Preparation and electrical conductivity of ZrO sub(2):MgO solid electrolytes

Description
Zirconia-magnesia solid electrolytes have been prepared by the hydroxide coprecipitation chemical method. Two Kinds of zirconia have also been used for comparison purposes: imported and zirconia obtained from the thermal decomposition of zirconium oxychloride. The results show that the relative phase content, the solid solution homogeneity, the magnesium content and consequently the electrical behavior are dependent upon the chemical processing parameters.
