Radiation-exposed coatings for nuclear power plants

Creators

  • 1. VEB Farben- und Lackfabrik, Leipzig (German Democratic Republic)

Description

Fundamental experiences are compiled about the influence of chemical composition of coatings on their resistance against ionizing radiation and decontamination processes. It was found that the coatings investigated meet the requirements for use in nuclear power plants provided that the formulation is right and the processing conditions as surface preparation, mixture ratio of two-component paints, air humidity, temperature, and a sufficient low temperature difference are taken into account.
